Dear ABMoC Community,

This summer marks my transition off the ABMoC team. For over ten years I have had the great pleasure and honor of working with you as a member of the core team at ABMoC. In that time I’ve seen the network expand, shift, and discover its values through true grassroots campaigns and love-centered movement building. Through our work together, I’ve not only been able to be a part of passing historic legislation and breaking down silos across the field, but I’ve also developed lifelong friends and mentors.

“Our movement is filled with heart work at its best, and whenever I’ve convened in an ABMoC space my soul is always nourished.”

As I reflect on my time with ABMoC, there is no doubt that the most precious moments have been the most difficult ones: when we’ve had trusted leaders break our hearts, when we’ve lost our young people filled with purpose to violence, when meaningful relationships fractured because our passions got the best of our intent, and when we suffered political defeats that erased years of progress. Throughout all of it, I’ve witnessed how the power of our collective sustains us through grief, struggle and healing to re-inspire and continue to build the world we want together.

Our movement is filled with heart work at its best, and whenever I’ve convened in an ABMoC space my soul is always nourished. Thank you for that. And thanks to my colleague Marc Philpart, who first welcomed me onto the team, and to Eric and Gustavo for giving me a part in building the next iteration of ABMoC. While I’m not on the team anymore, I’ll still be around supporting partners with their development and storytelling strategies, so this isn’t a goodbye. But I wanted to just take a moment to express my gratitude for each of you and the work we’ve done and will continue to do together. It has been a true gift to be your partner in the fight for justice and liberation.

Raising resources and people power is a critical part of building a strong organization, so if you want to engage in the work or would like to pitch in resources, you can do so here.
